SAM SLATER LIVE: LUNNG (+ GUESTS)
AV show by Theresa Baumgartner and Lukas Fiegelfeld
Featuring guest musicians from the festival.
Debuting in Volksbuhne, Berlin for CTM’s closing concert, this new Live AV collaboration between Sam Slater, Lukas Feigelfeld and Theresa Baumgartner drags Lunng’s original compositional frame—those endless, half-mythic road trips—into the present tense. creating a dialogue between the identity-defining urgency of adolescent roadtrip listening and the uneasy bandwidth of the current moment Feigelfeld’s nightmarish film work with heavily processed dash-cam footage, fuses with Baumgartner’s collosal light-drama, staging a conversation between the adolescent “if this track stops, so do I” imperative and the uneasy bandwidth of the current moment. It’s less a narrative than a headlong drift: memory and immediacy collapsing into a genre-agnostic, wrong-side-of-the-highway reverie—one eye in the rearview, one scanning the horizon.
“A hybrid of arresting electronics and acoustic arrangements from Britain’s Sam Slater.”

“It’s a dark, sweepingly romantic release—strangely majestic, in its own abject way.”

“A highly collaborative LP that plays out like an elegy for a world and way of living we’re on the verge of losing.”
